Epidemiología Ambiental del Cáncer y otras Enfermedades No Transmisibles en Córdoba: Estudio de Factores de Riesgo Nutricionales y Tóxicos e identificación de Biomarcadores. Integración de conceptos y métodos para aportar al conocimiento de sus etiologías.

El Grupo de Epidemiología Ambiental del Crónicas en Córdoba fue conformado en el 2004, reúne a docentes-investigadores que se desempeñan en varias dependencias (FCM, FCE, FCA, FP  y FCQ) de la UNC  y Facultad de Medicina de la  UCC  y aborda la Epidemiología Ambiental del Cáncer y otras enfermedades crónicas, estudiando las condiciones ambientales y los peligros que constituyen riesgos para la salud humana. El GEACC conduce estudios ecológicos, caso-control, de cohorte y de base poblacional, con el fin de detectar y evaluar, transversalmente biomarcadores de efecto de las exposiciones ambientales, identificar factores de riesgo y valorar características predictivas, con fines pronósticos, y continuar, por ende, aportando al conocimiento de la red causal de las enfermedades crónicas más prevalentes en nuestro país.
